Jahmyr Gibbs, a native of Dalton, Georgia, signed with Georgia Tech over a litany of offers that included Florida, Alabama and more, per 247Sports. After two years at Georgia Tech, Gibbs transferred to Alabama in 2022.

What kind of prospect was Jahmyr Gibbs in high school?

Gibbs was a consensus four-star running back at Dalton High School in Dalton, Georgia. Gibbs was ranked as high as the No. 2 running back in the country, depending on the recruiting service, and the No. 4 player in Georgia in the class of 2020.

Gibbs was named Georgia’s 6-A Offensive Player of the Year, a Sports Illustrated first-team All-American and first-team all-state honoree during his senior season. It was a repeat of his offensive player of the year and all-state honors received as a junior, where he also was named Region 6-AAAAAA Player of the Year.

In total, Gibbs finished his high school career with 4,882 rushing yards and 70 rushing touchdowns, highlighted by a senior year that included 2,554 yards and 40 touchdowns and a Chattanooga-metro area record 420 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in just three quarters. Gibbs concluded his high school career by playing in the US. Army All-American Bowl.
