St. Brown was a consensus five-star wide receiver at Mater Dei High School in Anaheim, California. St. Brown ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver nationally (behind Justin Shorter) and the No. 1 ranked player in the state of California, depending on the recruiting service, in the class of 2018. 

St. Brown had one of the most prolific careers of any high school wide receiver ever. After transferring to Mater Dei as a sophomore, he finished his high school career with an Orange County record 44 career receiving touchdowns, 154 catches and 2,922 receiving yards, including back-to-back 1,000-plus yard, 20 touchdown seasons. St. Brown also added three career punt return touchdowns. St. Brown earned multiple All-American, All-State, All-County and All-league honors while leading Mater Dei to a 13-1 CIF Division 1 runner-up finish in 2016 and a 15-0 finish in 2017, winning the California CIF Division 1 title, the California State Open Division title and the prep national champions.
